Vipers Quay is a wonderfully located 1960’s boat house, sleeping up to 12 guests. The spectacular living room is the focal point, with fantastic views over the River Dart and across to Greenway (Agatha Christie’s home) and the village of Dittisham. The huge room is open and spacious, with plenty of comfortable armchairs and sofas where you can relax and enjoy the views over the water. There is an open fire at one end of the room, with logs available for winter visitors. At the other end the dining table comfortably seats 12 guests.   

Outside, a garden stretches along the water’s edge, leading into a tranquil woodland area. There’s a BBQ space perfect for al fresco dining in the summer months. A spiral staircase rises to a rooftop sundeck, offering stunning views across the river—an ideal spot to soak up the sun while watching boats drift by. At the front of the house, a private jetty provides the perfect place for swimming, crabbing or launching a canoe or paddleboard.

There is ample parking and the house is all on one level, meaning it is suitable for wheelchair users (see access statement). Pets are welcome (small surcharge).

An open fire is at one end of the room, with logs available for winter visitors. There are stocked bookshelves and board games, as well as a smart TV and Wifi.

At one end of the living room is a large dining area, with a table for up to 14 guests. There is a door for accessing the balcony that overlooks the river.

KITCHEN

The well-equipped kitchen contains two large fridge-freezers, oven, microwave, coffee maker, dishwasher and induction hob. There is plenty of cupboard space and a small kitchen table.

bedroom 1

The room has a large double bed, built in cupboards and an en-suite shower room. The windows overlook the jetty and the river.

Two 3ft wide zip-link beds can be set up either as twin beds or a superking bed. There is a built in cupboard and an en-suite bathroom, with a bath with shower over. The room looks out on to the drive and is accessed from the atrium.

Two 3ft wide zip-link beds can be set up either as twin beds or a superking bed. There is a built in cupboard and a wash-basin. The rooms look on to the pretty garden with access through french doors. The room shares the main bathroom, which has a bath with shower over, with bedroom 4.

bedroom 5 (bunk room)

Two sets of full length, 3 ft wide bunks, with built in drawers and hanging space, with its own bathroom. Sleeps up to four children or teenagers.

jetty

The jetty goes right out into the River Dart and is easily used as a launching point for canoes, kayaks or paddleboards. It is also a great place to do some crab fishing, so check the tide times!

SUndeck

There is a spiral staircase leading up to the flat roof, which provides an enormous sundeck, complete with sun loungers and deckchairs, where you can catch some rays while watching the boats go by.
